Google Voice and SIP Client

Description
VoiceMac is the first Google Voice client for the Mac. Send multiple SMS Messages, send SMS Messages, receive SMS Messages, place calls, look at your call history, receive voicemail, reverse lookup a phone number, and search your contact list in one easy interface. When you receive a SMS Message or Voicemail, you get notifications via Growl and hear sounds that is customizable.

With SIP support you can place calls from your computer using your favorite SIP service and if you link your Google Voice Number with the SIP service, you can place calls with your Google Voice Number from your computer. With the reverse lookup data, you can see who is calling you, even if their number isn't in your contacts list.

With themes, you can customize your SMS Messages look anyway you like with simple HTML or by downloading a theme.

VoiceMac's contacts system is one of the best contacts system around, with support for Address Book and Google Contacts. You can search your contacts just like a Search Engine with speed.

VoiceMac is Open Source at http://opensource.mrgeckosmedia.com/VoiceBase/Mac/Mob.

It worked great for me but I find that it is hogging my bandwidth (I'm not using it for voice calls, just texting). I'm on a capped satellite network that limits to 375MB a day and this app took nearly all of it. I run Little Snitch to monitor what apps use what and VoiceMac was taking a continuous stream of data. Please fix this problem and I'll gladly re-download! I loved it for the two days I had it. Very sad to have to uninstall :(

Hi Mr.Gecko

I again tried your mac on OSX 10.7.4. This time it did pull contacts correctly but still I am unable to make a call.
Either I am doing something really wrong or there is a definite need of a patch.

Please spare sometime for this app. It is a real time saver for me.

Well as Karl said I won't mind shelling out few bucks for this app given it gets attention whenever a new OS update arrives.
I don't think it works in Mountain Lion. Although it looks like some functionality works like SMS. Please update the app for OSX 10.8.

Thanks a lot. I appreciate your effort in developing such a NICE APP

Nifty, useful, clean and free? This is the type of apps I would like to see in the Mac App store for a few dollars.

Feedback:
Unless I have miss configured something or the current version (0.2.1) has not been optimized for Mountain Lion there are a couple replicable bugs:

a) DTMF does not work when using Google Voice and made to ring on the SIP account configured in the client.
b) When dialling directly from the SIP client window, the app crashes no matter what

If you are interested in knowing particular settings, SIP trunk provider and or other particulars I'll gladly share those with you.
