Great app but needs some improvement. (MacBook Pro OS X 10.6.6)
The Install Plugin buttons aren't working properly as is the Preferences window.
Search process is slow and Showing Feed hogs RAM.
Freezes continuously and quits after multiple actions.

I'd just like to thank you for this great application. You did what Adobe was unable to do: Making flash videos play decently on my 1,33 Ghz PowerBook G4 running 10.4.11. Thanks a lot for your efforts!

This is a pretty amazing app. I wish I had found this years ago since I've quite a collection of older G4 powermac's and iMac's that have just been sitting in storage collecting dust. Even with graphic card upgrades they struggle playing anything on YouTube so I mainly used them as guest computers or for testing. Right now I'm on a quicksilver G4 Powermac that's 10 yrs old and now playing YouTube videos without lag or hiccups. Thanks!

I used YouView on very slow G4 PowerMac (867MHz, 768MB RAM and Radeon 8500). It worked great when I was using Tiger, but after installing Leopard it is maybe even more sluggish than the normal plugin. I did clean install so it is not that something went wrong in upgrading etc. Could it be that this app uses Core Image in Leopard and since Radeon 8500 cannot handle it in hardware YouView is slow? As far as I know if Core Image is not supported by GPU, it becomes a task of the CPU which in this case is indeed slow. I have tried repairing permissions but that didn't change anything.

This is a great app. Every since I got my Macbook Pro (late 2006), it has always has some sort of conflict with streaming videos in web browsers. I think the heatsink on the graphics card is improperly mounted (bad glue job) because whenever I watch videos in the browser on YouTube (hulu, vimeo, and anything in Flash) the temperature spikes way up. I have tried regulating the fans with a controller but it doesn't even solve the problem after more than 10 minutes of viewing.

I found this linked in a addictivetips.com and it has been a LIFESAVER! My mac can now play anything in high quality and full screen without so much as a 5 degree increase in temperature. My fans are very happy campers now. I love it so much that I even just donated, and if it solves your computational headaches then show your love by sharing the wealth.

Great interface, fast processing. Works great with my YT account for bringing in playlists and saving favorites.

My only two constructive requests for the developer are:
1) Add the ability to minimize the video window completely and leave only the play/pause/scrub controls visible
2) Add an option/right-click context menu on the search results and in the video window itself for quick access to the relevant options which are in the menu bar.

Thanks again and great job. This user can't wait to see more improvements.

Fantastic app that does almost everything I want to on Youtube. A few things that I think would make it even better:

- some way to change themes. It is a bit hard on the eyes, at least for me. I am visually impaired and need light text on dark backgrounds to really be able to browse comfortably
- a way to toggle annotations

Despite this, it's an amazing app. Thanks for your great work!

Can you clarify how to log in to You Tube? I keep getting an error message when I try to create a new user. What's the setup procedure to view available You Tube videos? Thanks for any additional info...I read about this app on Smoking Apples.com and am eager to try it! I have a Pismo with 512mb RAM running 10.4.

Really cool app. Nice to be able to watch youtube without lag on my PowerBook.

Firefox 4 support for the browser extension would be much appreciated.
