checking login credentials spins and spins endlessly -- will not complete checking credentials. all firewalls are off. signing in and out of my gmail account with all browsers works fine and my google talk phone number works fine.

will not verify
i do not have 2-step verification. i entered my real password. i did not enter an application password. I'm in the u.s.a.
Once email address and password have been entered,"Checking login credentials" spins and spins endlessly -- VoiceMac will not complete checking credentials.
All firewalls are off.
--Signing in and out of my gmail account with all browsers works fine.
--My google talk phone number works fine in any browser.
--Google voice and google talk are up-to-date with most recent versions.
